Lately things have been going pretty smoothly. I've been catching up in most of my humanities classes and definitely keeping up on painting. The 'Anchor' project, which is a continual painting, is finally underway and moving very quickly for me. We're just supposed to paint a little bit every day on it and the image reflects a sort of self portrait. Perhaps not an immediate image of self, but more the inner worries, thoughts, and feelings we have. I'm finally enjoying it. Painting has been a big struggle for me, and I haven't found myself very involved in most of the things I have been doing.
Another wonderful thing that happened to me was my Aunt flew me out to D.C. to see the sights and do some new things. The experience was unlike any I've had so far in my life. I had the opportunity to visit the Corcoran Gallery as well as the Phillips Collection. I have to say I enjoyed the Phillips Collection much more solely because it was more casual, a lot more creative, and a lot less structured as an institution. Regardless, Turner to Cezanne was a great show as was Abstractions by Georgia O'Keeffe.

I don't know if I could handle living in D.C. It's far to busy for me, but it was definitely a place worth seeing. I definitely feel more inspired returning from the trip and am excited to finally get started on my work for spring gallery night.
I feel cheesy writing this.
